Successfully moved servers no problem
i just moved my forums in their entirety from one server to another without using telnet/ssh, yadda yadda yadda..the only thing i used is PHPmyADmin by dumping and running queries.
After reading through so many posts on VB.com and VB.org about having to use telnet/ssh/whatever, i just figgured id give it a try..worked flawlessley - i never saw any reference to this way of doing it in any of the threads i read..why? |

PMA is extremely unreliable. Either you had a tiny database or you were extremely lucky.

ahh i see..my db is only about 5mb (excluding the attachment table which was about 130mb). i kept getting timed out when trying to dump attachment, so i just abandoned it..my internet connection is pretty shaky sometimes, so i figured it was that which was causing the timeouts versus the phpmyadmin itself..
thanks |
