I want to create a second post bit, for a certain group of forums. It is almost exactly like the original, except it forces a font color (I have a default font color for each user, but color is not allowed in the Role Play forums due to reading difficulty).
So could anybody tell me how I'd implement that? (As in create the template, get the variable name, etc; I am a n00b at creating new templates.) |

You'd need to make a whole new template group, just edit the forumdisplay and postbit templates to make it exactly the same for the forumdisplay and the way you want it for the postbit. Create the style for the template group too. After that just go to your forum settings and impliment that template set to the forum you want.
Thats the only way I know how to do it. |

Wow. That's a lot just for one change.
But that's alright. So to let me get it straight: 1) I make a new template set, and copy in my forum display and postibit templates, minus the change I'm making to the postbit 2) Make a new style, associated w/ the new template set, and presumeably make it match the original? 3) Apply it all to the forums in question. Does that sound about right? |

Yep. You can apply via the Forum Settings on that forum in the CP.
