Firstly lycos is a shocking host. Especially the UK one in certain countries it can't be reached. Australia is one.

Did you install it properly? Have you done any modifying after installing?

I'm afraid you can expect that kind of thing on a free host. No free host will run a vB properly unfortunately, the best way to test vB is on a paid server, those errors are probably something to do serverside and nothing we can fix.
