Are these mods possible?
Hi,
I'm new to this board so I apologise if I'm posting in the wrong place. I'm thinking of buying VBulletin for my site but have a few questions first. 1) I used to participate in a board that ran vB2 and it allowed private messages to be posted within a normal thread, is this mod available in vB3? 2) Is it possible to mod a forum so you can password an individual topic, not the whole forum. 3) Is it possible to post a message to a specific person instead of to everyone. Kind of like the way a private message works only it would be public inside a thread. 4) Can the hybrid view of the forum be displayed to the left or right instead of above the thread? 5) Can more items be added to "Forum Tools" or other drop downs? Sorry for the many questions and thank you for any help you can offer. Regards, Renada |

Yes to all, would require you adding some queries here and there, some more fields in the database as well, but possible nonetheless. Knowing PHP/mySQL would be a must unless you get someone to do them for you (except for #5, that should be easy).

Specialist,
Thank you, you were very helpful. You've convinced me VBulletin is the way to go. Kind Regards, Renada |

Please be advised that allthough this is possible, almost all of what you want to do is rather complex and would require quite a bit of PHP/MySQL knowledge. |
