Search New Posts/Post New Thread directly from main forum page via forum link icon(s)

If you look at this forum: http://www.wholycow.com/forums/index.php

You'll notice the ability to "Get New Posts" or "Make a New thread" within a forum from the main forum page by selecting an icon; rather than entering the forum itself. I wasn't able to find this modification on vBulletin.org, if once exists please let me know, other wise this would be a nice addition.
