Hello,
Which online chat would you recommend I use with vBulletin 3.0.3... The forum is very busy and will only get busier... I'd like to have the ability of having 50-100 people per room in chat at any time with lets say 20 rooms... Any recommendations? |

We use Flashchat - but I have never tried it with that many users - I'm not sure how well it would work.

I had Sigmachat integrated but there was a problem with extra rooms: There is only one users list for all rooms and no-one knows which room anyone else is in. The latest version is said to have different colours for each chat room user according the the room they are in but it doesn't appear to work and in any case there is nowhere for a colour key within the chat.
I changed over to FlashChat which is incredible value. Installation and integration is easy. But it's not without its problems: There is a problem of support for vBulletin integration with questions in the tufat support forum going either unanswered or something like "we're looking into it". The major problem with FlashChat is one of security where unvalidated and banned members can still login to FlashChat. They don't automatically login but are redirected to a login screen from where they are able to login. This has been pointed out by several users in the tufat.com support forum but there are no answers and no fix. Overall, I'm staying with FlashChat but looking for an alternative. |
