Christmas Spirit - Please read.

I was flipping through the channels the other day and I came across Oprah, now I usually dont watch oprah if thats what your thinking but what her show was about reallly compelled me to write this.



Christmas is often considered a stressful time of year because we feel this pressures of we have to buy gifts for all these people, some which we barely know. It is often overlooked though that Christmas is actually about more. Helping fellow human beings should be what the real Christmas spirit is about. This year feel better about yourself and do something to help humanity. I have choosen a organization that helps millions of people in South Africa. For only $1 a day person in South Africa can get enough medicine to help keep them healthy. 6,000 people a day in South Africa die of from AIDS. Children (not even children but toddlers and infants) lose their parents and are left to fend for themselves. Can you imagine being 2 years old or even 12 years old and having to fend for yourself? I challenge everyone who reads this to do something this year to not only help the people in Africa, but to give yourself a feeling that you actually helped someone this year. Even if you donate just $1, you will be helping not just a person, but a fellow human being.

hate to pop your cracker and all but i help a fellow human being every day of my life by providing food on the table and clothes on my kids back.Who without me there quality of life would be bad - though not as bad as some of the people in Africa.Now remember not everyone is starving in africa - just the select few and tbh donations aint the way forward - imagine living your life on donations.20 yrs ago when Live Aid first did that record they used pics of starving children to get their message across - 20 yrs later the same thing happened - now with all them donations they recieved would`nt you of though someone would of given then the pill so no more children will be born into the same poverty that befell there parents.So these people are starving to death yet they got time and the energy to start a new generation.Education is the key here - once you got that then u can educate the goverment as this is where the main problem lies.Ay goverment that stands by and watches its people die should be folded and a new one put in place thats my view anyway.In a time of plenty like we have now - no one should really be starving but watching programs liek Oprah will just make u think u a do gooder but that will soon wear off as soon as the xmas spirit has vanished.Ok lets all send $1 and lets see if we feel good - do we sleep better because we sent off a dollar - do them kids know where that dollar came from - do they really care,as long as they are fed today.It aint upto us to feed the world - and sadly politics plays a bit part in them people starving.If goverments can take over countries are you telling me the Europe Nations could not get totgether and sort this problem out if they needed to ? - Well yes they could but they simple dont care.
Oh yeah and stop watching them crappy tv progs or u be crying to lassie comes home next

I watch Oprah once per week. I like to check some interviews with some pretty good celebs

serious why am i sad ? - is people like u who watch ophay and get all rightous after watching it that makes the world sad.I know whats going on and i also know that sending a dollor here and a dollor there dont do a lot to help these people.It helps them for the moment then it all has to restart over again.The solution to this problem is to sort out the goverments so they are forced to look after their own people.
How come these sort of posts only come out at xmas - these people starve 365 /24/7.
I dont need a program on tv to tell me how i should feel or what i should do.I have my own priorties to sort out and that is my wife and kids then if we have anything left then maybe i will give to charity which i have done in the past - but thats my choice - i decide.
Will you still be harping on about the people in africa come March or September or will it be left to Xmas time again when everyones feeling are meant to be for peace and goodwill to all men.
Oh yeah me daughter bought the band aid record so think thats means we paid something this yr dont you - i can sit all smug because ive done my good deed for this year.
Anyway rather than bickering because we have a difference of opinon have a nice one and merry xmas

yep have to agree - is deffo a subject that does need delving into and m8 was`nt trying to ruin your orginal post as it was made with good intentions and can see where you was coming from - but maybe we sort this one out in the new year until then enjoy your xmas and dont forget the **** up at new year
