Adding a custom Block

OK heres the deal:
I would like to add a donate block with a custom button, a links/affiliates block with custom content and perhaps a block with a list of custom pages that we create for our gaming squad....I have done a search here and I dont know if im looking for the wrong thing or just not understanding what Im looking at but I would really like some help
