Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to reward some of our members on the quality of posts they make, and was wondering if there's a hack out there that will let a moderator designate a posts as a 'award post' and track the number of awards obtained by user? I got this idea from evga.com's forum (their blue ribbon post system) but need a way to track this by user. The idea is to give them points then when they have enough points they can purchase merchandise. I see the latest reward post hack, but doesn't look like it tracks the points earned. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -Roger |

If you don't use the reputation system then this can be modified to only allow mods s.mods and admins to give it in a range of fixed values say 100 points for bronze, 250 for silver, and 500 for gold. (I like to get the tiers in now coz it saves folks asking for them later.) Now if the usernotes system was linked into the reputation system then there could be a record of exactly when the award was given, which level, by whom and why. This could be viewed by all registered members or from usergroup 'x' upwards if you use promotions. You could also display the points in the postbit for each user. The posts where an award was given should show up with a ribbon/medal/star/whatever of the color of the award recieved. It makes sense to me anyway. Let me know what you think (and no pinching my ideas all you other coders ![]() |

Sounds like a possible solution! I'll check into it, thanks much!
