Guys , I need some help with a host move and board move.
We have found that the mysql db we are using for the current board has had too many hacks etc done to it. So now we are moving hosts we would like to start with a fresh vb shell and move the threads and post over from the old db. Does anyone have any instructions on how this can be completed. We dont want to move the whole DB just whats inside of it. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. ![]() Regards |

You could try setting up a new vBulletin installation and then using ImpEx to import your users/posts/threads into it.
You can download ImpEx from the members area at vBulletin.com |

I did a move just from a 3.03 install to a fresh 3.06 install with ImpEx.
I had a bunch of hacks, and it was a mess. Some hacks were half deleted, the default skin had been deleted, just messes of loose code all over the place. So I do my import ok, everything seems to be fine, reran all my counters to reindex, etc. Redid all the settings in the admincp for usergroups , etc. My problem is I can't get to any posts thru the boards. All my threads show, even shows the last post made, but if I try to go to actual posts, I get a blank page, not even any error. Other than this major snafu my board changeover is ready, so if anyone has any ideas, I would be very gratefull. :nervous: |

Most of the times a blank page means that a template is missing.

Any suggestions as to what would be the likely template missing?

carpefile - vB3 as it stands has no support for modifications and hence their update scripts and importers are not designed to import all your modifications across too.

Since it is a fresh install, I don't think I'm missing a template. I saw in another post about ending up on a blank page, it was suggested that perhaps there was "white space" outside of the php tags. Is this also a possible reason here? |
