Integrating Hivemail with VB 3.0.3
Hi - I have just purchased VB and have Hivemail 1.3.1
I have tried following the instructions on integration at www.hivemail.com but they do not seem to work fully (not that I am surprised) for example when I am logged into VB and click on the "Go to email account" link I then have to login again at hivemail. has anyone successfully integrated the two programmes? If so would they be willing to share the procedure? Thanks for your time. |

i did. I follow exactly what they said.
Maybe it's because you did not enter a valid path. The only thing that don't work, is double registration. When user register to my board and in the same time take a a free email. I got strange error. But that can be solve by removing that step in the vBulletin Option ("Account At Registration") |

I did this before their latest version and just havent gotten around to doing it again (to busy trying to solve other HM issues at the moment). I askes them about the login processes, but they want it that way (log in to vb, then you have to log into HM). Personally, me and the users think it sucks. It is also a security risk IMO as you can log out of vb and still be logged into HM. The other integration offerings are not that hot either. The ability for a user to see unread messages on their UCP is kind of cool (unless you have a catch all like me). However using that ends up throwing most styles out of whack and can slow down page loading big time. There should have been a little more thought to that (ie showing first x amount, then a link for more). Anyhoo... like I said, I am still waiting on them to fix it so it will stop bringing down my server. Once that is sorted, I will look into hacking it for how users want it to perform. |

The thing I don't get is that if you can see your e-mails in VB, is it authenticating your password in the Hivemail DB?

Bit of a shame really, it wasnt overly hard to do the authentication... would have thought they would have done it themselves as that is what users expect. |

Nail geek: Could you post the code for the login mod you did for the old version as I'm sure it would save me time in doing it for the latest version. Also, when it's done I'll post it so it will save you some work too.
