Contact Form item linked to a support forum! great hack idea!
I just thought this would be a great hack if someone can make it. Maybe it's already been done but I don't think so.
Ok, you have a new user that has registered but is having an issue. Say they can not figure out how to post a gallery pic or something. What usually happens is they click the contact form and you get an annoying email from them (as if you have time for this). Well, how about spread this work to your other members. So... Have an option on the contact form called "I need help". When they use this particular option their message is auto inserted into a dedicated support forum, and the user is auto emailed saying "Thank you, we have placed your request into our help forum, click this link to monitor your question". This would be a huge help to me as I have many clued up members would could answer these questions for me. Unfortunately I can't code, so have no way to do this hack.. |

Users click on the " new thread " button in the dedicated support forum. |

depends what kind of userbase you have. Most of my users don't even know what a forum is, or a thread. the learning curve is steep!
