All of the search engine results for my forums site have the same description of:
"This is a discussion forum powered by vBulletin. To find out about vBulletin, go to http://www.vbulletin.com/" How can I change this and what are soe of your suggestions? I know there are several hacks out there to index your pages into seacrh engines but I don't know where to start. I really don't think i need thread specific descriptions but if i could just change the one i have posted above that would help. |

If I modify the meta tags, will it be changed in earch engines as well? or not until they recrawl the pages?

There's two way of doing it.
First is like what you guys mentioned:- Code:
<meta name="description" content="$foruminfo[description]" > Code:
$foruminfo[description] Second: Login to your admincp> Languages and Phrases> Search in Phrases "x_powered_by_vbulletin" Then hit edit: Saw that? Just simply replace "x_powered_by_vbulletin" with whatever xxx you feel like replacing. |
