Before I go about doing this myself has anybody used mod_rewrite for the showthread system yet? The best example of this done well is http://computercops.biz/forums.html They're huge! I do know that mod_rewrite can be quite server intensive, but search placements are everything. Tons of people send links out to forum threads. I have the spider archive enabled, but replacing showthread.php + mod_rewrite would get considerably better placements.
