make a new template in vb3 rc4 ?

im totally new to all of this , so im really sorry if this is a daft question

Go to your Admin CP - Styles & Templates - Style Manager. Now on the dropdown you should see for the style you wish to add a template to, select 'add new template'.

wouldn't it be better to upgrade before adding more customizations?

thanks for the help guys

i have members access still but i dont fancy upgrading just yet as i dont want to screw everything up just yet :P

If i upgrade will it upset the hacks i have installed

heres what ive done

Paul_R - yes, if you upgrade the hacks you've installed prior will have to be reinstalled. I'd strongly recommend upgrading before hacking for the reason just mentioned (it'll all have to be redone otherwise) and so that you're using a 'gold' release instead of a beta release. That way you know the hacks will work with it all.

Also, in future upgrades, you can compare modified files (With a program like Beyond Compare) to the stock files in the new vB version to carry over changes made by hacks into the stock file. Easiest way to upgrade and keep hacks functioning.
