Pulling content from another db into sidebar
I installed the HTL Sidebar hack so I can include different info on the rhs of my forums. However I'm having problems trying to figure out how to include info from the database my main site uses.
I figured I should use the _php_include_start template to include the php file, but the file being included contains the mysql_connect, mysql_select_db functions which cause problems with the rest of the forums. Can someone explain how to best go about including info from a different db in a sidebar? Thanks. - Keith |

Am I right in saying that the php_include_start template is the correct template to use at least?

Btw, I figured this out. I needed to create a content feed and include it using javascript. Sorry for brining up an old thread too
