Select Usergroup to receive emails of all posts
Is there a hack available to enable a select usergroup to receive email of all posts?
We have a core group of less then 100 contributors on our small specialized site who want this. I have been giving permissions for a dozen members by adding their email as per each forum and it would be too much hassle for up to 100. Ultimately I would like it so that members in a specified usergroup could subscribe to receive emails for all posts/new threads on their own in subscribe by clicking to a list of the forums, checking as per forum to `receive all posts' and alternately another check box to `receive all posts of all forums'. It would also be handy if stats were available for admin to know how many and who are subscribed to receive emails of all posts as per forum. Q. What would be the max number of members to allow this on a low volume site with out affecting performance. Q. Is that any other tried and trusted receive email of all posts hacks available? There must be an easier way then me having to keep track of numerous email addys in a 2 inch single line as is now in the admin Forums manager. regards, Mark |

Woops sorry, I meant to post this in vB3. Could this be moved there? Or I can copy it over...
Not being familar with the cat headings here, I clicked on `Hack Requests' Forum in the Thread titles page during a search and started a new Thread. If the Forum Title was called - `vB2 Hack Requests' I would have known... vB2 is history Mark |
