Is there an uploader hack like Slynderdale or Erwins, but has this?

The ability to set user permissions so not everyone can upload files to directories.
Size quotas would be nice too.
I have found also another hack by someone, but their name eludes me right now. All great hacks, but none have that last bit of features.
Has one been created for vB2.x.x with user permissions for upload and possibly quota limits?

Maybe an small explanation of what I would like to do, and someone might be able to point me at something else.

I want to start yet another clan forum but I would like it if a clan can edit their own styles and template with the temp/style hack, but I also want to some how allow them to upload their images to do so. And if they even wanted to, a small web site, hence the need for a size quote.

I would, but I am limited on how many ftp accounts I can make, and I do not want allow one person to have access to another's directory, or any of my directories for that matter

i am about to start using CGI for that exact thing.. just have to make it look like the site itself and give users write permission, not read or execute.. and make sure the directory for uploads is outside of my www directory so no one can directly leech..

with PHP being limited to whatever the php.ini file is set to as well as the mysql packet size or whatever that is, i decided to go with CGI/PERL..

What are you looking to use for a cgi app to do that with?

not entirely sure yet.. have looked at hotscripts.com and a few other sites for thorough upload scripts.. there are many there that allow exactly what i am talking about, i just have been too lazy lately and trying to do the multiple site deal with vbindex is taking away a lot of time right now.. one i get something going though, i will certainly let you know.. may do that tonight to start testing things..

that is the upload page that has a form that goes to a cgi upload script.. i am gonna change the redirection of the upload script to refer back to a success or fail page that is also within the vbindex style/ template system..

but you can get a look at how it is.. once i get it completely working, i will pass it all on to you, JGM007..

ok.. JGM007, i have it pretty much set as far as the upload template.. have modified it to the point of now you have to be registered before you can get access to upload.. that was a +++++.. i kept goofing the tables and then had the wrong login code and then forgot to include the vboptions[bburl] string to the places they were needed.. now i have to modify the cgi script itself.. i may release all of this as a quickie upload add-on for vbindex.. but i would have to ask the cgi scripts author for permission to include it.. since it is a free script anyway, i don't think they'd mind.. but it's not covered by GPL.. so i reckon i have to ask..

anyway, i am getting there now.. and once i have it, i will pm you and have you take a look and all that.. i don't have a test account on my forums, but if you register there, you can see the script and what i have done to the template..
