ok, since rc3 just came out and i had a few settings and hacks installed, will upgrading to rc3 overwrite my hacks and setting? or is there a way i can preserve the settings or hacks?

Yes upgrading always removes old hacks as it uploads new files but anything changed in the database should stay there unless it is changed by the upgrade because of some new feature or bug in the system.

so if i wanna use the same hacks again, will it possibly work since it was made rc2 but using rc3 now?

depends on th ehack, best place to ask would be the thread that the hack's author made
