allowing users to register in their own language on multi-language VB 2.x board
Hello Everyone,
I appreciate this VB.org website, and of course love the VB software... I currently have six language templates on my websites vb v2.x (www.russianmeetingplace.com/forums), and would like to find a way for users to be able to register in their own language... As it stands now, even if a user is in one of my foreign language forums, when they would like to register, they need to register in English, which is difficult for many foreign language speakers.... Does anyone know of a hack, or some kind of workaround whereby a user can be directed to register in their own foreign language?? Is there a way to place a link that leads to a foreign language registration template, or.. is there some kind of php/html page that can be created that allows users to register in a non default language??? There must be a way to do this, and I would appreciate anyone's help very much... Thank you, Khashyar __________________ Russian Meeting Place www.russianmeetingplace.com www.russianmeetingplace.com/forums |

This is just a simple template edit. Create a link to register.php with the styleid for the language tacked on:
HTML Code:
<a href="register.php?styleid=1">English Registration</a> |

Thank you NTLDR....
I would be happy if something so simple would work.... I will try it... (have you heard of others trying this and it working for them?) How can I find out what is the style-id for a particular style? Thanks again for your help... Khashyar |

I appreciate your help...
I added your code link, and all of the different style registration links still took me to the English language registration page.... The registration links are listed at the bottom of this page: http://www.russianmeetingplace.com/f...php?forumid=75 It was a noble effort... thanks for yoru help Khashyar |

Are those styles selectable by users? Are you sure you have the right styleids? When you hover over the 3 options for the style (fonts/colours/etc, properties and download) you will see &styleid=X at the end of the URL, X is where the number is you want.

Hi NTLDR...
Do you think that the method that you mentioned for choosing a registration language also work for VB 3.x? Thanks, Khashyar Quote:
