Looked around a bit and couldn't find this...saw lots of stuff about referalls and the like but not really what I'm looking for. Basically just a simple form where members can, from the site, send their friends links to the boards or maybe a thread or something. If this has already been made then feel free to drop kick me in the face.

Yeah this has definetly been made before, i believe its a template mod so look in the template section here or over at www.vbulletintemplates.com I know i have seen it around before though.

Not necessarily. It's more to let friends know about the site than a particular thread.
