This post probably doesn't belong here, but with vBulletin.com down, I'm kind of blundering around in the dark (just found this site today). Maybe someone here knows the answer to a problem I'm having...

I just set up a v233 forum for a corporate site and everything's working fine except for file attachments. Users can attach files and download them again, but the downloaded files have been corrupted in some way and can't be opened. Users get "Unknown File Type" and related errors which suggest that the file headers have gotten screwed up somehow. The problem seems to be universal across all file types (PDF, DOC, JPG, etc).

Is this a known bug in v233? If so, is there a patch available on vbulletin.com? Any other suggestions for how to fix this?

vB.com at the moment is not down for me, try it now. If it is still down for you then you may have had your IP blocked by accident due too the recent ddos attacks. Have you been able to access vb.com recently ok?

If my IP has been blocked by accident, how can I correct it? I've got a bunch of suits breathing down my neck about this file attachment problem.

You need to email them telling them your IP address and stating you think you may have accidently been blocked.

I believe the email addy is support@vbulletin.com

Come too think of it, you must have had your IP banned because vb.org is on the same server as vbulletin.com, So if you couldnt get onto their site because of the ddos attacks, you wouldnt be able to get on here either.

THey are blocking the IPs from vB.com, not the entire server. I myself can access all of the official sites except for vB.com.

It is not a VB3 engine, just a parsed copy!
