Hi,
Is there some kind of hack available that warns users when he/she is trying to make a duplicate registration? Cheers, Rik. |

Hmm care to explain some more mate? The only way a user can register twice is if they log out and then use a new email address and username to register with.

Yep, that's exactly what I mean. And when that happens I'd want a warning page appearing saying that duplicate registrations are not allowed. A percentage of my members have problems with viewing photos in the PhotoPost gallery on the site because of their firewall or browser settings (not accepting cookies) and I've noticed that many users think that this is some kind of registration error and then register again. I'd prefer to prevent that from happening. But apart from this members have other reasons to register more than once (they decide that they don't like the username they first picked, they want two profiles for some reason, etc.)

It is in my profile: "Who might this new user be" hack.

I have six vBulletin boards with a total of app. 35.000 members. The hack sounds great, but I think it will keep me too busy? I'd rather just have a warning appearing so that members are aware that they are doing something against the rules. I will be able to track the duplicate registrations anyway (with another hack, can't remember the name right now) so if they register twice or more anyway then I can decide to ban them or contact them.
