Disabling session IDs
I was told that by disabling session IDs I will have better luck with search engines spidering my site (namely Google and Inktomi). Is there anyway to do this and how will this effect users of my forums?
THe forum in question is http://www.djshadowforum.com |

You can do this without disabling session id's Take a look at TECK's archive hack or many of the similar one's around which you can find by searching

Yeah, I found Tek's but it doesn't seem to want to work with me. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong.

If you use vB3, the sessionhash is automatically disabled for Googlebot.

if you want to remove session ids fastly, just edit the templates, however this could cause problems for some users

will this also take care of the "logout issue" that we get sometimes? pressing logout and then finding out you are still logged in. especially if your site involves vb and non vb pages? |
