When they go rc there will be untill then not much can do.

Anything that alters the files or the data base in any way is a hack.

Tried that.

On my private forums, I use my own code to do a query-less shoutbox writing and deleting a text file on the server.

There are two released at vBulletin.nl, one made by myself, although I haven't tested it on Beta 6, only Beta 4 and Beta 5.
