Default Just a few questions

Hello,

If you could just answer these few questions for me I'd be most grateful. Please be serious with your answers to as this is genuine market research.

1/ Have you or do you plan to have a design for your site/forum made ?
2/ If so what is yout budget?
3/ Out of the following three types of design which do you prefer (please ignore the content of your site on this one and imagine you have no connections with any site):

- Hi-tech / Futuristic
- Very professional and almost business-like
- Stylish yet simple

4/ What do you look for when you look for a company/person to design your site?

5/ Finally, what is your favourite deisgn that you have ever seen. It could be a flash website, it could be a business website, it could be an interactive website or it could be a forum. The choice is unlimited here.

...................................

If you could do this for me i'd be most grateful. Please be assured that this information will only be used by myself and no other corporations will be distributed this data via myself.

All the best,
- Dean

1/ Yes I am planning to have people to design both my site and forum

2/ I am not working or studying now so my allowance ain't that much. Probably around $200 - $500 should be reasonable pending on the quality

3/ I will go for stylish yet simple and user friendly

4/ Looking at the person experience and portfolio that he has done. As well as business attitude. I wouldn't do business with a person who hand in thing late or not the things I want. Doing research about the person is certainly a need for me. Due to the fact that I am taking such big sum of money to pay the person. There is a need to have some trust as it is online trasaction

5/ I have no idea maybe vB.org

For the business-like design, I would say a cross between http://www.deadserious.net/ and http://www.rsmhost.com/

For the futuristic-like design, I would say a cross between http://www.wominx.net/forums/ and http://forums.aliensoup.com/index.php

No.

"Very professional and almost business-like" provided that it is not heavy on images. I always label websites with a lot of image work amateurish. A website should be providing content in a fast way. If you manage to make it look "nice" while doing it, that is good. But if you are heavy on images, people with dial up are waiting years to access your pages, your "cool" pages looks awful for 3 minutes until all images in the page loads for slow connected users and in the end you have no content to offer, I pass that webpage right away. Bottom line is skins/style/templates/visual look may be looking nice but at the same time be simple and easy for all with everytype of internet connections.

4/ What do you look for when you look for a company/person to design your site?
Past work.. Experience.. Referrences.. Professionalism..

5/ Finally, what is your favourite deisgn that you have ever seen. It could be a flash website, it could be a business website, it could be an interactive website or it could be a forum. The choice is unlimited here.
Hard to say.. But I like the design of Cessna140.com much although I know it is not an external style with hacking and done via default vb colors and style options. Maybe this is why I like it much.. lol

no other corporations will be distributed this data via myself.
They can already access it via this public thread, right? hehe
