dump not importing
Sorry to post this both here and .com, but I have a customer waiting, so I need to find a solution ASAP.. ok,
I am trying to import a 17mb sql dump for a new customer. I uploaded the file to the server but as soon as I get the password propt, type in the password and hit enter... I receive the propt you get when it finishes I have tried both mysql -u root -p database < /home/username/dump.sql and mysql -u username -p database < /home/username/dump.sql any ideas? |

Use this format - also, make sure you have permission to change the database set up properly.
mysql -uUSERNAME -p newdbname < /path/to/dump.sql |

There shouldn't be a space between -u and root.
Code:
mysql -uusername -p databasename < path/to/dump.sql |

It's a database permission issue - search vB.com - there are a few threads on it.
