Map Post to users in vBulletin after EZBoard Import

Sorry I know this is presale but it does pertain to a question people may ask about.

Ok I have bought vBulletin and I had Freddie import the data from EZBoard. Which I must say he did an awesome job and for that I am thankful. Now that I have all the post in vBulletin I need to map the post to the users once they register on the new forums. Does anyone have a link or an idea on how to do this. I have already searched and found nothing so please do not say search for this unless it will pull up some results.

I have yet to see anything like this... but it would be useful I think because I've done things like this before.

And I think someone should move this to hack requests

Well as far as I can see there are two table you need to change Post and Thread.

Post Change would go like this.

PHP Code:

UPDATE post SET userid = '[I]posters userid[/I] ' WHERE username = '[I]posters username[/I] ' 


Thread Change would go like this.

PHP Code:

UPDATE thread SET postuserid = '[I]posters userid[/I] ' WHERE postusername = '[I]posters username[/I] ' 


NOTE - This is a suggestion please do not use it till someone who knows vBulletin verifies that it is right. I tried it and it seems to work.

On my above post I was wondering if that is the correct way to remap users to their old EZBoard post that have been converted to vBulletin??? Also after you have ran the above the post date and the user reg date is way different any fixes for this.

There is a hack like this already - search for "ezboard".

I have been looking for this hack but all I get from everyone here is search for EZBoard. I have and it is like a millions post to search through. What I suggest is make a link on the main page to this answer becuase it is a hot topic for people asking it here are converting to your vBulletin software.

It's more than just links post counts. It also will automatically link an ezboard member who registers with the same username in the new vB forum with all his old posts, and thus get his old post count and old posts. Just tell your old ezboard members to register with the same username, and they will get their old posts link to them automatically on registration.
