To have an Arcade, or not to have an arcade?

That is the question...I have a James Bond Message Board, so an arcade really wouldn't be relevant. But I see other users' boards and they have arcades.

Should I install an arcade? What about its query-load?

I'd poll your members. If an overwhelming ammount want it, then it should be obvious what to do

I wouldn't base adding an arcade just on other people having it, though. I don't really think one fits in on a Bond board :ermm:

It's a great addition for when your users having nothing to mind to discuss, it gives them something else to do to keep them on the board.

I've hardly noticed any difference in the query load at all and I had over 20,000 plays from my user in the first 3 days.

I agree with Razor, Make a poll on your board and let your members decide. As everyone has stated it does make an impact on your server load, especially if you have a big community, but can also prove to be fun. The new arcade released for vB3 is very nice, especially with the ability to challenge other members and more.

I don't know how heavy the arcade is in the forum, I have dedicated server so it's not a big problem. But I think it's very useful and attract a lot more members for your forum. Frankly the games itself suck, there are many better games than the nintendo-15-years-ago kind of games, but the key is the ability to compete with each other, to be the best.

You won't be regret installing it. It's the best Hack ever I've seen in this vb.org.

I've installed John's on my board 5 hours ago (for a higher ranked usergroup) and its already a BIG hit... members love it!

Get it, I debated for a long time, and I went for it, and it drives users to your site, especially when you have about 145 games to choose from
