Is there a way of allowing POSTS to be marked anonymous? I don't want to allow guests to post on my forums, but I do want to give my registered users the option to hide their identities when they write something controversial (we want to be able to openly evaluate our teachers/staff).
Also, it would be nice if they would be able to maintain access to their post so that they can edit it... So maintaining post-user relationship, but hiding identity to rest of world. Any help appreciated! |

Try Logician's dynamic templates hack and use a simple clause to say if the forumid is *yourforumid* then display $post[username] otherwise display Anonymous

it's not that easy.
the easiest way would be total annonym posts by just don't saving the userid and the username into the post, but then they can't edit the posts anymore. but it's a secure method. the other way like mist said is also possible and they can edit the posts, but it's insecure, because the names could be seen when searching and so on... |
