Hi
I am somewhat new to Vbulletin. What we are trying to do is tie our site registration, with the vbulletin registration. What we want to happen ideally, is when someone signs up for the site, after being confirmed, they get an email with a temp username and password for the forums. Essentially we would like to auto register them to get them in, and then they can go in and edit their forum reg info. Is this possible? Hope this makes sense. thanks in advance, Mike |

It certainly is possible, you need to open register.php and duplicate the insert query that adds users.. then add that sequence to your registration process. You'll want to turn off e-mail verification most likely.

Do you have a different system for your site? If so you may have to get sessions worked out as well, so the user can keep logged in, and will not have to login twice.

Why to create an automatic register name and password and allow them to change after registration whereas you can let them choose themselve a the beginning ?!

Or you could just take the majority of register.php and copy it over, modifying that so it will do the sign up for the site and the forum

Thanks for all your help. We are still playing with it. There is no log in for the site per se, so that will not be an issue.
