Only Certain Usergroups Can Change Styles
Hi, Gang,
My community web site operates largely off of donations; I'd like to add a new feature for my premium subscribers and enable them to be the only ones who can change styles. There did not appear to be a built-in option on the vBulletin Control Panel. Has anyone seen a hack that would do this? I've tried searching for something that might approach this, but I honestly haven't seen it. Even something as simple that would simply say "Sorry, you cannot change your skins" if you're of the inappropriate usergroup would be sufficient. I may try my hand at it if it turns out no one has attempted it before. Kaelon |

Thanks, Amy. Though your hack looks like excellent work, my subscription-system actually relies heavily upon usergroups.
Thanks again, though. Kaelon |

All you have to do is to change the check for premium to check for the usergroups that you use. You would skip the control panel part and only make changes to the member.php, user.php, and global.php.
Just instead of checking if $bbuserinfo[premium] you check to see if $bbuserinfo[usergroupid] == X (X = your premium user group.) Amy |

Hi Amy,
Sorry to dog up an extremely old thread, but are you aware of a version of this hack that might work with vB 3.5.3? I've searched far and wide, to no avail. Thanks, |

Yes. Andreas wrote a new version of it. Check the plugins section.

Thank you Amy. You're the best! (Muchos kudos to Andreas, too)
That plugin is exactly what I was looking for. |
