Howdy-
We just set up a website with vBulletin 2.3 and vbHome 4.2. We have structured the entire site under SSL, and would like the ability to do the following: - Have ONE login prompt at login screen that logs the user into the Front Page of vbHome AND allows them access to the vBulletin forum and, - Have a timed session "auto-logout"; where a logged-on user, if inactive for say 10 minutes, is prompted to re-login. You can probably guess that this site has to be pretty secure. We also will only be having 20-30 users max, total. All registration will be closed. I've seen hacks that do partially what we're after, though I'm looking for one "elegant" solution that fits the bill! Please "dumb-down" your response as I am a total newbie to scripting / vBulletion! thanks! |

I think the best way to handle this (assuming I haven't misunderstood what you want) is to:
-remove the various cookie/sessions option from the User CP (through the usercp and register templates) -Set the permissions so that only registered users can view the board (through the usergroup section of the CP) -Change the error_nopermission template to suit you. This will be displayed as a front-page login box. |
