'View New Posts' Problem:
Hello ALL!
Just recently, i tried to edit the search.php file so that it would not include some of the forums on the 'view new posts' link. When I did the hack (located here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ght=search.php ), it worked. However, if someone posted in one of the forums i wanted to exclude, the number of new posts still increased. This was misleading my users so i removed the hacked search.php file and replaced it with the original backup file. However, ever since I did that...the 'view new posts' numbers are going through the roof. If i click the link, and then click the new post/thread, it doesnt take it off the list like it used too. The only way I can remove posts from the 'view new posts' link is by clicking the link at the bottom of that page to 'mark all threads as read'. Can someone help me? THis is very frustrating and my users are not happy Thanks and take care! EDIT: I just would prefer to get it to work the way it did before...can anyone help? Do I need to run a query? Please help! |

Ok, I am starting to get the impression that maybe 'view new posts' really didnt work that way. Can someone verify this?
For example, i thought that once you clicked a thread in 'view new posts', that the next time you viewed 'view new posts', that thread you just viewed would no longer be listed.....is this not the case? is this not how it works? I thought that is how mine worked...maybe i was wrong......anyone know? |
