Users viewing threads...
This is a pretty general question, and shouldn't be too hard for you guys.
Is there a way (hack or otherwise) to make it so every time any user reads a thread it is logged? For example, if I create a thread called "Michael Jackson is Nuts", and want to know who has read it, is there an easy way to find this out? The reason I ask is that on the site we use our forums on, we get tons of views, and for specific threads (private forums) I would like to know who is reading them, so that people that read them (a few in particular) can't say "I didn't read it...", and I can say "Sure you did, at 6:06:22pm..." Or would this create a huge logfile or something that would suck up our server space? If 10 people check a thread, and 1 person checked it 4 times, it could say something like "HYNDSY: 4" for the number of views, and log the last known time. Just wondering. No biggie if it's impossible, but I was just wondering. Hyndsy |

Nearly nothing is impossible, but it would blow up your thread-table a lot, or when coding with new tables, the new table wouldn't stay small...
if you have much db-space no problem, but without i won't do it |

The threadwhois hack by Neo allows you to montior who view what threads, you can easliy midify it so it works by forum(s) and/or user(s) and/or usergroup(s).
