JamesUS told me via PM that this would be a function of vB3, but that I from what it sounded like they were not making one for vB2.
If someone else could PLEASE make it, I'd really really like it (and be willing to pay.) |

Yeah I am so intrested in this!! My problem is my old host deleted my account and me being a dumbass had no current backup!
I lost 30,000 posts!! The new board is up and running and I just found a backup of the 30,000 posts that I want to bring over. I dont care about users just the posts! |

Sorry everyone. Real Life, as it's prone to do, just got in the way.
BACKUP YOUR ENTIRE DATABASE BEFORE RUNNING THIS SCRIPT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the script that I used to merge two vB forums into one. I spent about 2 days writing it. Again, it was written specifically for my situation, but should work for yours. It REQUIRES some knowledge of mySQL and PHP. Instructions are included in the readme.txt. If you have questions or problems, feel free to email me at madmikey@unrealplayground.com. BACKUP YOUR ENTIRE DATABASE BEFORE RUNNING THIS SCRIPT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd really like some feedback from someone who gets this to work. It worked for me, but if someone else gets some use out of it, that even better. |

Hi Everyone,
Did anyone have success in using MadMikey's merge tool script in their forum? It is a great tool... It would be wonderful if there was some way to import specific threads and posts through the admin panel, like the function that is available for VB3... Khashyar |

Hi Zack...
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I know about the VB3 importer.. I have two forums (one of them vb3, and the other vb2.3.4)... Because the vb2.3.4 has over 3000 pages in google through an archives program, I don't want to upgrade that version of VB.... And... I have a few hundred old posts (and a few old thredas) that a user deleted in a fit of passion So, I want to find a way to restore those old posts (without dumping the new database info in the current database with its new threads, posts, users, etc....) I welcome and appreciate ideas Khashyar |

you want to downgrad the vB3 board?
You can't merge them if they're different versions, as you'll only have one set of files left... Try explaining a bit better what you want to do please |
