Members don't want to loose their number of posts
This seems to be an on going problem with members. Many do not wish to loose their number of posts when I delete threads. I'm not found of the idea of placing the "old" or "dead" posts in a private 'thrown' area.
I did a search and came up with 600 posts.. Does anyone know where to find this ? Maybe I'm just looking up the wrong name. Thank you in advance. The site in question is www.welovefreestuff.com |

What I do is I create a new private forum, and call it "Trash". Then I remove all the admin options for delete thread.
I then created a button in the forumdisplay template that automatically MOVEs threads I want to delete into this private forum (or you can just manually move threads into this forum). This way, threads are never removed, and you keep an archive of all bad threads for future reference. Alternatively, there is a hack that you can use that preserves post count even after you delete threads. |

Can you tell me what you have for a link to the button to move the threads and how you have it set up?

Vincent]Here's what I use
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...t=delete+posts I apply it when my Trash Can forum gets too big and then after I'm done mass pruning the forum I take the hack off and no one's post count was lowered. |
