I need to hide recent posts from staff forums
I posted this in the livingroom but not a single bite. I currently have search turned off so posts in the mod and admin forums titles do not show up in the view todays posts area. Even if they can't access the posts themselves, i don't want the titles showing up there either. I am desperate here. I have admin and mod forums that are viewable by non-staff but they can't access them. the problem is, when a staff member makes a post in them, the posts title can be viewed in the search string in the view today's posts area. Unfortunately that leads to some titles I don't want viewed by general members. I don't want to make the forums invisible, I just done want posts titles from those forums being displayed int he search areas. I really need haelp with this one and would be totally appreciative of any hacker here who can fix this problem for me. thank you very much

Are you sure they can see them? Have you logged out and taken a look? I thought this was sorted when VB was updated to 2.2.4 or something?

I went back and logged in as a testuser as a regular registered member and you are absolutely right, i couldn't see a single post from any of the staff forums. thank you very much and I apologize for wasting anyones time. php can be a bit frustrating but it is powerful and I will master it soon enough. thanks for the help

I wasn't 100% sure and almost gave myself a heart attack as I speedily had to go and check my forum security too. Don't worry 'bout it.
