Few questions related to vbHome_lite
vBhome_lite
I've recently installed the long-closed hack "vBhome_lite" for my site. Not realizing the hack was closed at the time (D'oh!), I went through with the install and have it working great! Or at least I think. *hehe* I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me out on. If you'd like to see the site, please pm/aim/im/msn me. First question - On the last ten threads column (left side), I would like to change it so that instead of posting the thread with threadstarter and date/time the thread was started - I would like to show the last poster and date/time last post. To me that just makes sense. But I'm not sure what to change. :s Also, it'd be nice to make it so the private forums didn't show up. I'd also like to add the "login" information under the "welcome back" section right above the last posts. I've got it to say "welcome back MEMBER/GUEST", but I can't get the evil login box coded right. *hehe* There's a few more questiosn, but I'd rather address them via msn/aim. If anyone can help, please do! *hehe* Share the knowledge and love. My aim is "CharmedGirl Rose" and my msn is "thecharmedgirl@hotmail.com". I have a decent amount of knowledge of html/php(ish), so you're not working with a complete newbie. But I'd still appreciate help when available. |

rose, the query grabs from each forum the most recent threads, not posts. so is basically complicated to pull the last post and also it will add more queries, wich you dont want.
for the login, you could always check this post: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...858#post245858 basically the hack is expandable because you add vBulletin code to it. however i dont recommended because it adds queries. you need to keep it decent, like max 30queries on that page. the easiest way to reduce the queries is to limit the number of latest threads and news to 5 for latest threads and 10 to news. please keep in mind i dont support this hack anymore due to vBulletin project to release it's own vbHome version. good luck with your site. floren. |

Thank you, Floren.
I have the last posts working with "Webtemplates" and I like the style better, too. Maybe I'll figure with that a bit and see what I can come up with. I used the referenced post for the login code, but I think I'm having html problems with it - so I'll get that cleared up, too. *hehe* How can you tell how many queries are being run? Thanks again! |

the easiest way is to install vbMicrostats. this hack is used also here at vb.org.
[high]Page generated in 0.39837003 seconds (24.24% PHP - 75.76% MySQL) with 24 queries.[/high] |

Thank you, Nakkid. I've downloaded it and am in the process of installing. Had a few errors (got one big blank white page), but I'll keep at it and see how it works.

I got it working. Thanks, Nakkid. I currently have 22 queries on my forumhome and 31 on my site index. :s Working on getting that down, though.
I'm still interested in personal one-on-one help with the site if anyone is interested. |
