Edit: Back from weekend, heres the synposis.
When i came back from my alton weekend, it seemed most of my net pals had never been, So i decided to make a post about it. Alton Towers:: The Final Word This guide is written in a formatt where i go into detail about the more intense rides, There are ALOT of rides at alton towers, and so i can only comment on the most popular attractions. Alton towers uses a skyride transport to let you move around the vast park easily and quickly, even using this transport you will notice blisters forming quickly :P And dont expect 10 minute qs. If you want short qs be in early and get a VQ pass. or Book XRTVQ tickets online, so you can get ahead of the crowd. As we arrived at the admission area we walked past the que and used our XRT {Exclusive Ride Time} Tickets to get in before the mob, And bolted down to air.... Forbidden Valley: Situated near the hotel, the Forbidden Valley is based on the nemesis beast errupting from the ground, and the shrapnel around it. Air . A huge rollercoaster where you lie down and "Fly" Perhaps the most exciting and unique experience of my life...But i didint know what was to come. As i sat on the seats in the station, i pulled down a strange holding function but i noticed how comfortable the holding restraints were. With footholds too! Then out of the blue, i noticed the floor moving down. my heart skipped a beat as the train moved into a face down position. It was as comfortable as sitting upright. Then. a soothing whisper boomed as the station turned purple "Assume the position.....now Fly" With that the train bolted out of the station through an underground track before starting its primary ascent. Then, as i watched the trees bellow the rollercoaster train thundered down the first drop, and the unique expeirience began. A sincere feeling of floating through the air overtook everyone on the train as we slid feet above the ground before twisting around. This ride was enjoyable for any sort of rider. Although after my fourth time, my mother came on and was crying on her way out ![]() This wast a first to alton towers, World Exclusive , however there is now Flying coasters open in the US. Soon My sister and i headed for the giant and frankly terrifying rollercoaster next to it, The Nemesis. Nemesis. This made me scared, really scared. Voted the worlds best rollercoaster for years now. THe nemesis is loud, and the terrifying music playing around it dosent help We nervously used our VQ passes to skip the nemesis q. And soon we were sitting on it. And we were going up a VERY large hill, what followed was pure terror. With our feet dangling bellow us we experienced loops, corckscrews helixes and every sort of ride combinations possible. We came off exhilarited but terrified. Ripsaw Another ride in the "Forbidden Valley" the ripsaw was a large seated platform with to large arms on each side and water spouting from the bellow pool. As the ripsaw begins you soon begin to loop around in a cool action, then out of the blue the whole ride starts to creak and all of a sudden you stop at the top, then the ride begins its loop again, with the platform looping itself at the same time, and water spouting in irregular patterns bellow. Amazing fun. X-sector Situated on the other side of the park, Designed to be a "Science Experiment Center" You will be blown away by the site that greets you...an awseome 60 metres vertical drop to underground acheived by the worlds first vertical drop rollercoaster, the Oblivion... The Oblivion Looking at this monster makes you physically ill, qing for it makes you dizzy and being on it makes you plain terrified. Once you wait through the long q, You will finally arrive at the station. And you sit on the seat..... You then realise that the restraints are fairly loose, much looser than the nemesis or air, You start to dehydrate right about now..... The two row train begins to leave the station and climb up an acute angled steep slope. The terror sets in. You slowly turn a corner, before hitting a holding drop, The voice tells you "Dont Look Down" and the four second holding drop seems like half a second as you plummit vertically from above the trees to subterrain altitudes in a matter of seconds. The feeling is so intense its incredible. You cannot begin to desribe the feeling of falling vertically for 60 meters. Then you errupt on the otherside of the tunnel and speed tound a helix before stopping at the station.... Screaming like a baby, and then going into hysterics of laughter.....The worlds first vertical drop rollercoaster, yet again america soon "copied" the design and it is featured on a unique coaster called X at one of the Six Flags chains there. Enterprise. All that holds you in this vertical wheel with cars on each arm is the forces of gravity. The wheel begins to rise until a vertical loop is acheived, and it makes you VERY disy. Submission A basic gondola swing ride again, highly unpleasant infact. Gives you sore eyes and a painfull head. I didnt enjoy this one at all. Black Hole A completely undergound rollercoaster which climbs then uses a series of helixes to go round underground. Very good for the family rollercoaster experience. Good feeling. Storybook Land is basically childrens rides. For 3-10 year olds. Tower Street. This area is populated by themed stores and arcades, with the SwanBoat Ride being on the lake in the middle Swan Boat Ride Great way to relax after all that walking. Dont fall asleep though! Teacups Surprisingly exciting ride to be enjoyed by all the family Kataganya Cannon A water Ride area. With Fun aplenty Log Flume Probobly the best log flume around, With exellent drops and exciting pitch black areas Runaway Mine Train Exciting family rollercoaster with several steep drops. River Rapids A complete thrill and a blast, a great laugh for all involved. I couldnt spend the time to review the whole park, give me a few days and i would :P Be prepared for some flying. Alton towers unique themeing makes it different from all those "Uber Intense White Kunckle Thrill Parks" in the usa that pack as many coasters as they can into one place. Alton Towers gives you a thrill just walking around Total Score 5/5 Europes Best Park by Far. With unique world first white knukle thrills, only found in USA and UK. If you liked Alton Towers, why not try.... Thorpe Park 3/5 A water designed park with lots to do... Chessington World Of Adventures 3.5/5 Super cool themed park with lots of family attractions. Blackpool PleasureBeach 2/5 With a gigantic rollercoaster which was previously the worlds tallest coaster, Blackpool is too busy and packed with rides. Not that enjoyable. Very expensive too. |

well alton towers is quite bad cuz the queues are wayyy too long unless u purcharse a "Priority" ticket... which is like ?65... so it depends if u think its worth it...
The rides are the best i think... i reccomend "Oblivion" and "Nemesis" - all the one's with the big queues lol.. But the best theme park IMO in England is "American Adventure" in Derby... fantastic rides... but be careful of the hot dogs... i choked on one last time i went... the whole damn sausage went down my throat and burnt it and i choked... and i couldn't talk for a week hehe... Have fun ! ![]() - Mist |

Im afraid so. Its all on the alton towers website, you simply walk into a turnsytle for Nemesis Air and Submission and you collect the ticket, then when its your turn on the ride you go back
