I have been looking through the points system in the forums here, and there seems to be a few. I am really not interested in installing all of them to see what one that I like...

So I am asking for a little help here from those that have installed them... What one do I go with? I am looking for one that is the nicesest to look at as well has the most configurablity... I only want to do this once, and simply don't have the time to play around installing and uninstalling hacks ;-) I am sure that you all know where I am coing from here...

I am running PhotoPost on my system and I was going to award 1 extra meg of webspace for ever x amount of points...

Well the easiest to use would be the Shinra Online Point system. But for your request on making it somehow integrate with this PhotoPost thingy, I'm not too sure...you will have to know some PHP coding of yourself and manually do some hacking to your files. There is no hack on this forum that supports what you are looking for.

Lesane Store provides a point system and also a store where you can basically buy permissions. It doesn't come with this PhotoPost thing, once again, but with some hardcoding you could probably figure it out.

So to sum it up:
Shinra Online Point System = Fast to install, easy, simple.
Lesane Store = lengthy to install, much much more features.

Both do not provide Photopost add-ons of any kind, and you will have to hard code it yourself.

I personally like to play with my own

but if i had to choose i'd say the Lesane Store hack

why? because it is so much more efficient then the Shinra Online Point System in my opinion

There is also that Karma hack 2.0 thingy, but supposively if you loose enough points your karma will eventually ban your from the board.....

whoops, there goes me spreading rumors again

(but doesn't that seem like a grand idea to keep people posting? buahah, evil but grand

)

Thank for the reply, I don't have a problem with manually adding the additional awards to the users, and I am Ok with the points system not able to work with Photopost automaticly.

I am just looking for something that will track the points, and maybe be a little graphical for the user to look at...

I looked at all the information for the store, and it looks like a great hack, but I am thinking that it might take away from the more professional look tha I am trying to keep with the website.

I did a little research for you and the banning of a user is an option that can be turned on and off from the Admin.

Shinra's Point system uses a custom userfield and to me anyway, is easier to modify and adapt.

What I am looking for is something like the Karma hack, where points are awarded for posting threads and replying to them. I am looking to expand this to the PhotoPost as well as VBPortal.

I have a digital photo club on-line and this is what I am using this software for, and I am going to start everyone off with 1meg of space for thier photo's... As they get involved with the site and upload photo's, comments, threads, etc... The more they do the more points that they get. Once they reach a set amount of points they can then PM me and I will trade in thier points for an additional amount of space for thier photo's... This rewarding the active members...

I have looked into the store and I installed Karma, but niether of them allow the use with PhotoPost or VBPortal...

I was thinking that a graphical percent bar across the bottom, like Karma does would be nicer to look at then just some numbers.
