Word Replace
A mod that I would find really useful is a word replace.
For instance, somebody types in a word or phrase that is deemed unsuitable then when the message is posted or after an edit, it replaces those words with something else. An example of this in action would be Ikonboard that can do this. |

You can either use the censoring to censor these words (++++), or just set those word replacements as Replacement Variables, for your styles.

You're welcome Harvey.
(and don't be embarrassed, it gives you wrinkles) |

The problem with replacement variables is that it will replace every instance of the word everywhere, styles, links etc.
A hack that only replaces the words in posts is what is needed. |

Any reason you found a 6 year old thread to post this in?
You can make the suggestion over at vBulletin.com for the replacment variable issue |

What is wrong with the default vBulletin censor?

Because you can't partially censor words.
eg... f**k / s**t |

That also does not make much sense to me.
You censor words because you don't want/allow them on your board. By only censoring half of the word, it is still readible and will be used. So why censor it at all then? |
