Whine....
Well ok- I'm not whining really....
BUT- and I'm sure this topic has been mentioned before... I'm trying to migrate my YaBB system to vbulletin, and had only partial success. I used the YaBB-->phpbb converter into a clean phpbb install, then did the import from phpbb-->YaBB. Well, the results were almost usable... Rather then get into the specifics, my crap hackjob got the data moved over, but reinitializing the search index, and replying to some posts did not work... I cannot find another YaBB--><whatever> converter that will convert from <whatever> to vbulletin Which completely sucks..... So I'd like to add my voice to the chior of those whining (err ok requesting) a YaBB SE-->vbulletin converter. My vbulletin purchase is pretty much useless unless I can get the data moved over. I have 30,000 posts that cannot be lost... Thanks for the ears... 25 hours later, after manually editing, hacking, crying and screaming- I admit defeat! |

Have you used the official phpBB2 importer?

It moves the data, drops a few users, munges the forums a bit, and then locks the phpbb-->vbulletin converter. Then I have to manually delete threads in the phpbb system, and finally it will import... However, it will not re-index the search DB, nor allow a reply to certain posts and retorts with a database error... when trying to search: "Database error in vBulletin 2.2.6: Invalid SQL: SELECT wordid, title FROM word WHERE title LIKE 'house' mysql error: Can't open file: 'word.MYD'. (errno: 145) mysql error number: 1016 Date: Tuesday 25th of June 2002 09:12:08 AM Script: http://forums.aswp.net/vbull/vbull/search.php Referer: http://forums.aswp.net/vbull/search.php?" When trying to reply: Database error in vBulletin 2.2.6: Invalid SQL: SELECT wordid, title FROM word WHERE title IN ('re','re','doom','iii','quote','i','originally',' posted','by','groinklothaswp','/i','','b','i','thought','you','were','leaving','fo r','a','while','p','/b','/quote') mysql error: Can't open file: 'word.MYD'. (errno: 145) mysql error number: 1016 Date: Tuesday 25th of June 2002 09:13:02 AM Script: http://forums.aswp.net/vbull/vbull/newreply.php Referer: http://forums.aswp.net/vbull/newrepl...ly&postid=8243 In other words- it's a total loss.... Well, at leats I tried.... |

Don't give up, not yet.
Upload repair.php from the vbulletin226.zip file, and run it. Your word table is damaged, which is why you can't reindex your forum nor reply. |

Ok- I'm going to do a complete re-install, and migration of my "Golden" data master...
Then rebuild with the repair script.... I'll report... |

You need to change the database name in the URL. The default is vbdatabase,
but yours is probably different. Check config.php if you don't remember the database name. ----- Original Message ----- From: "vBulletin.org Forum Mailer" <post@vbhacks.com> To: <chen.avinadav@vbulletin.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 25, 2002 4:48 PM Subject: Whine.... > Hello FireFly, > > beheader has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Whine.... - in the Requests forum of vBulletin.org Forum. > > ~~~~~ NEW ~~~~~ > New at vBulletin.org! > You can now reply to the thread by replying to this message.
