Default removing all spam posts from one user

In VB 3 there used to be an option as you looked at a spam post that said "delete all posts as spam and ban user" or something similar.

I have just upgraded yesterday and now I have a spammer I can't see how to delete all of their posts at once easily? And will my moderators also be able to do this?

Thanks

Select a post from that user, click on the inline moderator menu and select delete. On that dialog, there will be an option to ban the user and delete his messages. It will ask for verification at which point you will need to deselect any users you don't want punished by the action.

Sorry I'm struggling to find where you mean, if I select the post then use the drop down menu and click delete this is what comes up:

Deleting 1 post(s).

Delete Options:
'Soft' delete - Leave "Deleted" Message
Permanently remove
Soft Delete will allow the content to be restored later, whereas Permanently Removing the content will permanently remove it from the database. Please choose wisely.

Deleting the first post of a topic will result in the deletion of the topic.

Reason for deletion (Optional):

-------------

There is no option there to delete all of their posts or ban them

Thanks

This is what I see on my inline mod menu. It's always been there so I have no clue where to look to turn it on. Support on vbulletin.com should be able to answer this one.

Also can anyone tell me where in the admin panel I need to change so I can make sure my moderators can do this also?

thanks

Can anyone help me with this?

Or point me in the direction of someone else who can answer? As soon as I start getting spammers I'm going to have a big problem if I can't mass delete their posts!

Help!

In the thread itself, use the moderation (the little checkbox on the top-right of each post) to select the spam post in question. Now scroll to the bottom of the thread, below the last reply yet above the Reply box is a "Moderation Tools" drop-down box, use it to select the "Delete posts as spam" option.

*Look at my attached image, as you can see I selected the checkbox which turned the post background to that same yellow used in notices so it lets you know that you selected it, then at the bottom it now showed me that I had selected (1) posts and I clicked Moderation Tools to choose what action I wanted to take .

I believe you just didn't realize that option was there and instead were clicking to edit the post then to soft/hard delete it. The option is at the bottom of the thread once you select the questionable post then use "Moderation Tools" to choose an action. If a member is setup as a moderator of said forum then these options should be available to them by default unless otherwise specified in the moderator usergroup permissions. *To give credit where its due, Replicant stated this originally and then you sounded confused so with that being said credit to him for the advice I simply clarified was all .

Hiya

Thanks, but I don't appear to have a "moderation tools" button at the bottom of my threads The screenshot you posted looks the same as what I had when I was using VB4 but now I have 5 it's not there.

I think I need to change something somewhere in my admin panel but I don't know what!

The inline moderation menu on vb5 is on the "floating" bar to the far right side. This is the bar at the top of the thread view. If the menu is not showing, the user you are logged in as doesn't have the proper moderator permissions.

seriously can no-one help me with this?

I do have an "admin" log in which can do it but what my regular login to have this ability, and I also need my moderators to be able to do it (doesn't everyone want their mods to be able to do it?)

If there is a better place for me to ask and get an answer to this PLEASE can someone point me in the right direction?? This is pretty important!
