I think Eva has the biggest list I've ever seen if I remember correctly.

You can set your domain to give a free email adress via www.everyone.net and there thousands of domains they are serving at the moment.

In this respect, I think it's a waste of time to try to exlude free email providers from registering your board.

Say, my domain is turkhukuksitesi.com and my other domain turkhukuksitesi.net gives free email via everyone.net's server. Can you guess this domain is a free provider if I didnt tell you or can you think of any list that displays my domain as a "free email provider". I guess not..

But if you are determined to include them, I would suggest regarding services like everyone.net either, not only yahoo or hotmail..

Just my 0.2 cents..

I just ban the most common email providers such as hotmail.com, msn.com, yahoo.com and yahoo.co.uk

If i find alot of users registering with another free email host i add that to list.

Personally I don't like blocking free email's but when 99% of you trouble's come from those sorta account's . Since I changed the rule too no Free email's Trolling on my board is at a all time low

Thanks for the link to the list...

I don't want to ban free email providers per se. I just want to be able to lock them down better.

Wayne, what do you mean in "locking down?"

Although I use @yahoo.com & @hotmail.com for nearly all public emailing, I know exactly what you're talking about. We have tons of returned email from these services with a range of problems. But usually "no account found" or "over quota" messages.

I've considered making a hack to move those users back into awaiting confirmation but that could knock my mods out. And I'd like to take care of them as well.

It would be nice to create something like the ezmlm probe (retries over time) and prehaps restrict those account to no emails unless they confirm again. But this would be separate from the user groups.

Anyone, please post your thoughts. I've been pondering this for sometime now. I don't want to ban them all. They're are not totally unreliable. If they were, I couldn't do squat.
