editing the postbithead - help needed

hello,
i am creating a theme and i am using a bit wider /statusicon/post_new.png and post_old.png
as a result of this, the description of the time the post was created, gets ovelaped by the images.

the question:
is there a way to move the time description some pixels to right and how if yes?

at this moment its with the original png.
the red marked area is the distance the time needs to be moved to the right (please do not pay any attention to the vertical axis. its false

(cant press the like button for your post ozzy47. it says that i need to "like" someone else first)

People want links so they can go to the actual page and experiment with changing the css with a dev tool like Firebug.

Search in your postbit.css template for the following.

.postbit .posthead .postdate, .postbitlegacy .posthead .postdate {
            display:block;
            float:{vb:stylevar left};
            clear:{vb:stylevar right};
            width: 49%;
            margin-{vb:stylevar left}: 10px;
            font: {vb:stylevar postbithead_font};
            padding-{vb:stylevar left}: 15px;
}

Change padding-{vb:stylevar left}: 15px; to a different value like, padding-{vb:stylevar left}: 25px;

You may need to adjust the px amount till it looks right.

Lynne suggests overriding settings like that in additional.css like this:

.postbit .posthead .postdate, .postbitlegacy .posthead .postdate {
            padding-{vb:stylevar left}: 25px;
}

Nerbert's suggestion is probably easier, that way it is safe from upgrades.

issue resolved, but it became too much fancy mith the animation i placed there. so i went back to the original *.png and time position
