How to place a banner between head and body

I raised this question elsewhere, but I realise it may have been the wrong section.

I wish to add certain information between the head of the site and the body (just under the nav bar). It needs to be 90 pixels high and extend the whole width of the page and it needs to appear on all pages in the forum, CMS, blog.

It was going to be an SSI (server side include).

Any suggestion on which template I need to edit to insert the <include> code?

Put it in the navbar template as shown below

I found that location in the navbar template and I added this, but the contents of test.htm don't seem to seem to show on the forum homepage.

Just to make sure the code itself works and there isn't a server related issue (conf files settings), I created a new php page in the /forums/ folder and tried this SSI in there and it works.

Any suggestions?

Maybe try it without the start and close Php tags....

Old thread to be bumping, but in any event, you can't use PHP in a templates. You can use it in plugins that reference the external file you want to use, then pack it inside a variable and put that in the templates. Alternatively, if it's just regular HTML code in the file, you could just put that code in the templates.
