Profile sidebar skin ugly after upgrade - how to fix it?
I don't have a screen shot of what my profile looked like before the upgrade. I upgraded from 4.0.5 to 4.1.6 today, and after making some minor adjustments to my templates, I think everything is reasonably close to my previous skin except for the profiles. I can't figure out how to fix the profile.
As you can see in the attachment, the background of the sidebar is a medium blue. It appears to be using the same image that we are using in multiple other places on the forum. The default icons are dark gray, making them difficult to see. The font color for the links looks terrible with this blue background. I'd rather not risk messing up the look on other parts of the forum, so I'd prefer to change things just for the profile - either the background or the links and icons. Which style vars or templates should I be looking at? Advice please? Thanks in advance. |

The style var for the link color on the profile turns out to be sidebar_header_link_color. I'm going to assume that if there's any other place this is used, it's on top of the same sidebar_background which is the medium blue image.
Still searching for where the icons are customized. Or if we know that they are only used in sidebars, I can just have our artist provide some lighter colored ones, and replace them using the same filenames. We already have that for a lot of icons, so my upgrade notes tell me which folder of customized images to merge into the forum's images folder after the upgrade icons are in place. --------------- Added [DATE]1317413045[/DATE] at [TIME]1317413045[/TIME] --------------- I think that the icons are specified in the memberaction_dropdown template. I have no clue why it's called a dropdown when it isn't a dropdown; possibly in the earlier version it was a dropdown, and since dropdowns are on white backgrounds the gray icons would have looked good. |
