Blocking (partial) illegal usernames, swear words ?
I asked this in the vb.com forum and was told that this might be a hack request ....
I believe similar questions have been asked before but is there a way to ban usernames that are partially illegal. I mean if people start wanting to register stuff like deeps**t etc. is there a way to ban them or at least notify/email admins/moderators when part of the illegal word matches a username ?? I realize there are presently 2 ways to disable swear words, etc. based on content and illegal username, but I am not sure how to implement what I am asking ? Thanks for your help in advance! |

You can set that in the control panel as part of vB options. Just look through the page. I believe it is called word censor, but don't remember off the top of my head and too lazy to go look

Thanks for the response, but I dont believe there is anything in vb to ban "partial" (just part of the word, I mean).
Censor in content only works on full words, while you can specify usernames that are not allowed, but no partial usernames. |
