Fake accounts

Hi everyone,

Recently I have been receiving fake accounts from who knows who. It started off as a few accounts now it has grown to more. I deleted the first round of fake accounts from the database and more showed up today.

Is there a way to make a new member click a link to prove it is a valid e-mail address or they can't create the account or is there another solution.

Yes, in the adminCP, Settings -> Options -> User Registration Options -> Verify Email address in Registration

Thanks Kevin, it stopped the new fake accounts; that would have been annoying day after day.

The new fake accounts have stopped as far as new members numbers that view on the forum, but the database is still filling up with fake accounts. What can I do to prevent this from happening?
